Horse trainers will operate their duties from their own horse farms or they will travel to your farm to assist with training schedules. Trainers have a special job and one of the great things about trainers is they instantly form a special bond with the horse in which they are training which then makes the horse feels comfortable and trustworthy of the trainer. |

Horse Trainer Responsibilities
A horse trainer will supervise the training preparations of horses for a wide variety of activities and competitions. They will also consult with the horse’s owners and riders and they will instruct stable staff on caring and grooming tasks. A horse trainer will also perform the following actions whilst a horse is in its care for training purposes: |

- Exercise, feed and groom the horse.
- Saddle and bridle the horse.
- Introduce horses to reins and harnesses.
- Hitch harness racing horses.
- Teach horses how to pull carriages and weight barring objects.
- Teach riders and jockeys riding skills and techniques.
- Supervise and plan training schedules.
- Teach jumping, equestrian, dressage and racing.
- Teach show horses trotting and walking skills
- Select programs and activities which horses are best suited to.
Horse trainers also train horses which are competing in performance horse events, annual shows and trotting races. Their responsibilities are enormous but all trainers love their job and are completely devoted to horse training.
