The thoroughbred horse is generally described as a race horse. The breed was first developed during the 17th century in England. All thoroughbreds today are of bloodlines from Arabian stallions. This breed of horse is purposely used under saddle and gallop for racing. They are a unique and extraordinary breed of horse. A thoroughbred horse will stand at approximately 16 hands high and they are generally a bay brown, chestnut, black or gray color. The face of the breed generally features white markings and the lower legs are also marked with white features. They have chiseled heads and long tall necks, lean strong bodies and long legs. They are considered to be a hot blooded breed.

Nowadays thoroughbreds are being treated unfairly if they are not good racers or they are injured or retired. They become neglected, abandoned and abused.
