Horse ranches are also home to many common equestrian activities such as recreational and trail riding. Dude ranches are a type of vacation resort in which guests can horseback ride or participate in activities typical of western ranches.

Types of Horse Ranches

There are two main types of horse ranches: working horse (or cattle) ranches and those that cater to tourists and horse owners. Working horse ranches are best known for horse breeding or for producing wool, meat and dairy products. Such ranches are usually closed to the public.

Horse Ranch Training Facilities

Horse ranches typically contain horse barns or stables with multiple-horse stalls and indoor and/or outdoor riding arenas, roundpens and hot walkers. Some even provide exercise pools for rehabilitating injured horses. They employ staff with years of training and experience with horses in various field events. Some offer horse owners and riders the opportunity to board their horse on site.

Horse Training This will suit those who don’t have the time to maintain their horse. Horse training facilities on ranches offer owners and riders the chance to take riding lessons and compete in shows. Many horse ranches are equipped with state-of-the-art training technology to teach horses a variety of different skills.
